Laboratory for Livestock Testing Services

Providing services for the purpose of examining and monitoring the health of animal herds in the farm, aiming to instill confidence in the safety of consumers. It is necessary for the animals to originate from disease-free parent herds, possess robust health, be raised in well-maintained and hygienic farms, receive nutritionally valuable food based on breed recommendations, receive disease-prevention vaccines, and undergo appropriate care and management throughout the handling and transportation stages. This ensures that the farm’s measures are correct and suitable, fostering assurance in their efficacy and appropriateness.

1. Virus Testing Laboratory and serology conducts tests to evaluate the health status of animal herds, encompassing the assessment of disease resistance response following vaccination. In instances where infection is suspected, the precise identification and tracking of viral agents can be accomplished through techniques such as culturing in fertilized eggs and cell cultures or employing rapid cultivation methods like immunocytochemistry or molecular biotechnology. This allows for accurate detection of the viral genetic material using Real-time PCR technology.

Microbiology Testing Laboratory offers specialized testing services aimed at monitoring and managing the health aspects of the farm in accordance with established farm standards and the Bio-security System. The tests are conducted to detect the presence of microbial contamination in breeding and parent stocks, farm facilities, environmental samples, water, and animal feed. In instances where animals are unwell or facing health problems, the laboratory conducts separate examinations to identify pathogenic microorganisms. This facilitates the assessment of their susceptibility to various medications, enabling the selection of suitable drugs and contributing to the mitigation of drug-resistant microbial infections.

3. Chemical Testing Laboratory conducts analyses of nutritional values in animal feed and pet food. It examines residues of veterinary drugs, toxins from fungi, chemicals, and other contaminants, such as growth promoters in animal meat, animal feed, or excreted substances. It also analyzes the chemical characteristics of water used for animal rearing and wastewater in accordance with the standards set by the Department of Pollution Control.

4. Pathological Testing Laboratory offers services such as post-mortem examinations, forensic investigations, and the diagnosis of illnesses or fatalities in farm animals. Within the laboratory, abnormal tissue or organs are stained and studied to examine the occurring pathological conditions. Through the analysis of all the gathered data, the causes are determined and potential remedies are identified. This process contributes to minimizing losses for both present-day producers and future generations in the field of animal husbandry.

Offers precise and dependable testing and examination services to maintain product quality. We utilize modern equipment and employ expert scientists who specialize in their respective fields. Microbiology Testing Laboratory offers its services to examine the presence of disease-causing pathogens (such as Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella spp., Escherichia coli 0157, Vibrio spp., Shigella spp., Bacillus cereus, Clostridium perfringens, and Yersinia enterocolitica) as well as the quality of food by assessing the existence of indicator microorganisms (such as Coliform, E.coli, Enterobacteriaceae, Enterococcus faecalis, yeast, and mold). These tests encompass various stages, including raw materials, production processes, production area surfaces, and food products in food processing factories, animal food factories, and even in beverages and utilities used across different industries. The objective is to ensure that the microbial quantities fall within the specified range (microbiological criteria) by utilizing advanced technologies like automated microbial culture preparation systems and MALDI-TOF machines, which facilitate swift characterization of microbial biochemical properties.

These services include the identification of harmful substances derived from fungi and other contaminants, utilizing advanced instruments such as LC-MS/MS, LC-MS, and GC-MS. Additionally, the laboratory conducts precise and efficient analysis of heavy metals using ICP-OES and AAS instruments. Nutritional analysis of food and animal feed is also performed using accurate analytical tools like Amino Acid Analyzers. Furthermore, UHPLC instruments are employed to examine essential nutrients, including various vitamins necessary for the proper growth and development of humans and animals.

Provides knowledge dissemination to external organizations in order to foster understanding of laboratory standards, animal feed factory quality systems, animal husbandry and production, and food production quality systems, aiming to enhance production and trade efficiency for competitive global markets.
